Chapter 17 Scholarships
Our chapter offers several opportunities for our dancers and their teachers to earn scholarships to further their training.

Tom Waters & Alzine Cuppett Scholarship
Dancers can audition for scholarships toward their home studio tuition. Awards also include free workshop opportunities.
Auditions are held during our November workshop.
Van Cummings Scholarship
Ms. Van Cummings was an active member of DMA and past president of Chapter 17. Ms Cummings served DMA National as the head of the ushers for the national convention for many years. In honor of her dedication and service this memorial, annual scholarship was established. The scholarship covers the cost of the DMA National Convention and is awarded to dancers between the ages of 10 - 13 yrs old.
Auditions are held in January during the winter workshop.
Zee Brown Ahearn Scholarship
This memorial scholarship was established to honor Ms. Zee Brown Ahearn, an active member of DMA and past president of Chapter 17, for her long time service to both Chapter 17 and DMA National. Chapter 17 is pleased to select one student to attend the DMA Student Honors Intensive Program (SHIP) at the University of Buffalo each year.
Auditions are held in January during our winter workshop.
El and Bernice Warner
Teacher Training Scholarship - T.T.S
Scholarship for the DMA National Teacher Training School. Covers tuition for 4 years of study.
Edna Lee Kuhn Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship for a current MADM dancer who’s family is financially unable to send them to a workshop. The scholarship covers a MADM Ch 17 workshop.
Cynthia Krug Wagner Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship for a current MADM teacher who is financially unable to attend a MADM workshop.
The scholarship covers a MADM Ch 17 workshop.
